Hello! I'm Mel

South Florida videographer, film degree holder, and someone who has genuinely never successfully made a sourdough loaf.

I come from a production family — my parents met working behind the scenes at a news station in Peru, moved to the US, and I basically grew up inside TV stations watching how everything was made.

By 15, I was in my room editing my own bootlegged versions of Disney Channel shows I'd somehow gotten my hands on. That turned into a TV production class, then a film degree, then somehow — in the best way — weddings. And I haven't looked back.

When I'm not filming, I am almost certainly watching TV. Not casually — as a hobby. We're talking Gilmore Girls, Derry Girls, Broad City, Schitt's Creek, New Girl, The Office, Jane the Virgin, and yes, I will defend Twilight with my whole chest. I will also never turn down a Hallmark Christmas movie. Ever.

I bake my own sourdough bread and I mess it up every single time. I have an embarrassing Monopoly Go addiction (I am not winning any money, I do not know why I keep playing). I collect stickers. I talk to myself constantly. And I share my home with one small, terrified, food-obsessed dog named Oliver who is the love of my life.

I've shot weddings in New York, New Jersey, San Diego, San Francisco — and I will absolutely follow you anywhere. Seriously.

We are so in love with our wedding videos! Melissa had full creative liberty and created a phenomenal video. I’ve had three of my bridesmaids already tell me they want to hire her for their weddings (they still need boyfriends but that is beside the point). She puts so much care and detail in her videography, you can really see it in the final product. She has given us a beautiful way to remember our special day and we couldn’t be more thankful!! I highly recommend Melsfilms for anyone getting married in Miami.
